What a wonderful day both Years 2 and 3 had at Shaldon beach as part of their outdoor learning.
The morning started with a glorious walk to the beach where the children could appreciate the stunning surroundings.
Events began with a sand sculptures competition. Children used their buckets and spades, feathers, seaweed, stones and shells and great creations were made. These ranged from turtles, mermaids, lost cities and skull and cross bones. The children were judged on their team work and design. As the tide came in, the sculptures were washed away but there was still fun to be had.
Everyone enjoyed the mini olympics in the afternoon which was followed by a well deserved cool ice lolly which was just the trick on this hot and sunny day!
How lucky we are to live by the beach!
