Mentoring for Year 6 pupils

For the first time, pupils in Year 6 are involved in a new initiative in which each of them has been assigned their own personal mentor from the wider community to help with goal setting and action planning.

Many of the pupils have now had their first meeting, taking their mentoring logbooks with them to record any aspects of the conversation that they choose. They are also responsible for setting up the next meeting, ensuring that they are available on the selected date.

So far the feedback has been really positive, with pupils coming back to class inspired and motivated to make the very best of the opportunities they will have during their final year at Shaldon School.
