Reading weather maps in Year 6

Year six were visited by ITV Westcountry weather presenter, Kate Haskell, to talk to them about reading weather maps in order to be well prepared for their tall ship travels in June.

They learned about high and low pressure, cold and warm fronts, how to read isobars, before having a go at using a weather map to present their own forecasts. Everyone enjoyed themselves - and the good news is, according to year six, we are in for a scorcher of a summer! Get out your sun glasses and sun cream and let's hope they are not just investing in a large dose of wishful thinking!
