The children in Year 3 rose to a challenge set by The Rotary Club of Teignmouth this week.
They were asked to design a bridge using a set of K'NEX. The children thoroughly enjoyed looking at many different famous bridges, including more local ones such as Shaldon Bridge! They learnt about many types of bridges including suspension, truss and bascule.
The children began designing their very own bridges and then made final designs in groups. This then meant that the children could start to work on the fun part - building! After many restructures and discussions, five absolutely fantastic bridges were built! The children presented these to three Rotary members and the winner was announced - Tower Gate group!
Well done to all the children - it was such a fantastic competition that showed teamwork at its finest! Our thanks also go to the Rotary club for kindly purchasing five sets of K'NEX for the school.
