The children in Reception class visited ‘Sticky Paws’ the dog groomers in Shaldon.
Hadley was particularly excited to visit the salon because his Mummy works there. The children learnt that ‘grooming a dog’ is when a dog has its fur brushed with a special hairbrush. They watched a dog being shaved with a special razor and they were shown the scissors that are used to clip a dog’s claws. A dog can even have a bath at ‘Sticky Paws’.
If the dog is big enough it can climb up the steps and into the bath but if it is too small, Hadley’s mummy picks up the dog and puts it in the bath.
Such a fun and interesting trip for our youngest class who are learning about pets this term.
