Toys from the past

This half term the children in the Reception class have been learning about different toys from the past. The children ‘interviewed’ their parents and grandparents to find out what were popular toys when they were young. They then shared the information with their friends in the class.
The children have learnt how to play some of the more popular games such as tiddlywinks, pick up sticks and French elastic. On Thursday afternoon the children shared their learning with their friends from Years 1 and 2.
All the children enjoyed learning more about the past and it was particularly rewarding to observe some children creating their own versions of different games.
