Jake Walker in Year 3 expressed an interest in becoming a Marine Biologist when he grows up. Miss Weyman, who happens to know Professor Tom Hutchinson, who is a Marine Biologist, told him how hard Jake had been working over a very challenging year. Professor Hutchinson invited Jake down to Plymouth University to see how a marine biologist works and explore the sea creatures that are under the microscope. Jake went down to Plymouth with Mrs Parr and he had a fantastic time operating a very complicated large microscope. He even managed to see bacteria that was on the leg of a parasite, bacteria that you would not be able to see with the naked eye.
All very exciting stuff in the life of a Marine biologist!
