This morning, Year 1 took a trip to Shaldon Bakery.
It was a freezing cold day and everyone was very glad to get into the warm bakery and smell the delicious fresh cakes and bread.
The children had lots of questions to ask the baker and he was so helpful! He said how some of their goods were delivered to them from another location, how they had special ovens with lots of shelves to cook all the tasty treats and how bakers often worked late into the night to make sure there were fresh goodies for all their customers first thing in the morning.
After asking lots of questions, each child bought a soft or crusty roll and then ate it back in school with chocolate spread, butter or jam whilst they shared their learning from the morning.
