Last week, Year 3 enjoyed three fun-filled outdoor activity days. The experience kicked off with some team building tasks, on Wednesday, that challenged the children's ability to problem solve. From crossing a swamp to braving a swinging rope, the children were left feeling tired, but extremely proud of themselves and their teams.
On Thursday, the children experienced (albeit for a short while) life on the open seas, as they canoed from Brixham Harbour to Churston Cove. Whilst one half of the class canoed, the other trekked along the coastal path and then swapped over. The day was full of new experiences for a lot of the children and it was brilliant to see so many of them trying locally sourced seaweed, toasting marshmallows and enjoying a unique opportunity.
Friday saw the culmination of the outdoor activities with a wonderful beach day accompanied by Year 2. Both Miss Smallshaw and Mr Sandercombe were bursting with pride at just how superb both classes were on the day. The children were able to enjoy a range of activities as well having some much needed time to socialise with their peers.
It was a pleasure to experience each day's activities, with the class, and a special thank you must go out to all those involved in making each day run so smoothly.
