Year 6 WW1 exhibition

Updated: Mar 19, 2019

Year 6 celebrated the end of their First World War learning experience by hosting an exhibition for parents in the school hall.  The children designed the experience to show guests what they had learnt since the start of term.  During the exhibition, there were many different stalls for parents to visit: at one, parents were asked who their heroes were, at another, they had to think about the qualities they thought heroes needed, then, they were offered samples of food and drink from the First World War. They also had an opportunity to look at actual artefacts from one hundred years ago before heading into our immersive trench experience and finishing with a reflection and an opportunity to listen to recordings of children reading their letters hidden behind QR codes.

Class 6 loved the opportunity to share their learning with the exhibition guests and were delighted with the overwhelmingly positive feedback from everyone who visited.
