Mr Hodgson
I am passionate about teaching and absolutely love my job. Working with children every day, nurturing them, supporting them and guiding them in all that they do brings me great joy and I couldn't imagine doing any other job in the world! I read Language and Communication at university and graduated from Cardiff University in 2000. I then completed my PGCE at Marjons, in Plymouth, in 2010 and was awarded a distinction in a Masters in Education in 2013 for research I had completed looking into the impact regular aerobic exercise has on children’s writing attainment.
Just like the children in school, I am always keen to learn new things. I am an experienced teacher, having taught for ten years, mostly in Key Stage One. I know the Key Stage One curriculum and expectations really well and feel most at home teaching in Year One and Year Two. I have extremely high expectations of all those in my class and I strive for excellence in my own practice and the very best outcomes for the children for whom I teach. Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my family and my two young daughters. I love sport too and enjoy nothing more than going for a long run along the coast or through the woods. I like to think of myself as a fun, happy and positive person and I am really excited about continuing in Year Two at Shaldon.
