The Nursery is open all year round Monday-Friday 8am-6pm. (closed for Christmas and bank holidays.)

 

Term time only sessions are available and run alongside Shaldon Primary term dates.

Early Years Education Funding

 

All children aged 3 and 4 are entitled to universal funding: 15 hours of free childcare per week, during term time. This is available to every child, the term after they turn 3 and is regardless of family income or circumstances.

 

In addition, many families can also access extended funding: up to 30 hours of funded childcare per week during term time depending on parental work status and household income.

 

At Shaldon Nursery, we offer a choice of how you use your funding, term time only or something called a “stretched offer.” Instead of funding being limited to term time only, we spread (“stretch”) the hours across the whole year. This means your child receives slightly fewer hours each week, but the funding is available for more weeks – helping to cover holiday periods and giving you greater choice.

Funding options available:

 

30-hour working entitlement

• maximum hours of 30 hours per week over 38 weeks (Shaldon School term time dates only), or

• maximum hours of 22.5 hours per week stretched across the full year

 

15-hour entitlement

•  maximum hours of 15 hours per week  (Shaldon School term time dates only), or

•   maximum hours of 11 hours per week stretched across the full year
