We are aware that an increasing number of families are following advice and self-isolating. The official advice following yesterday's announcement is that: Staff and pupils should now home isolate for 14 days if they, or anyone else in their house is unwell with a cough OR a high temperature. Otherwise they should attend school as normal. If staff or pupils become unwell on site with a new, continuous cough or high temperature they will be sent home.
At this stage, we hope that Shaldon Primary School will be able to remain open unless advised to close by DfE / Public Health England. However, if we have a high staff absence we may need to alter or reduce provision. If we need to do this, we will inform parents as soon as possible. If your child is self-isolating, please inform the office on the first day of absence.
In view of social distancing measures, please only communicate with the school via phone or email and only come in if absolutely necessary. We will be regularly updating our school website and would recommend you use this as your first point of reference. We will be updating class pages shortly with resources to support your child's learning at home, in case you are currently caring for a child who is absent.
Yours sincerely,
Jenny Stewart
