Over the Autumn term, Year 4 worked with Andrew Downton and Elfyn Jones, as part of the Chorister Outreach Project. They performed alongside children from TCS Mill Lane and Exeter Road, Stokeinteignhead, OLSP schools, the Devon County Youth Choir and choristers from Exeter Cathedral and Exeter Cathedral School.

As a joint, massed choir they filled the cathedral with a beautiful sound, singing ‘I am Sailing,‘ ‘Building’ and ‘I Can See Clearly Now.’  Each school and group then sang on their own. Our children from Year 4 wowed the huge audience with the original version of ‘The Fearsome Man O War.’ This was a song about the Shaldon Ferry.

The afternoon performance was the result of an initiative to reach out to children in the county and the Diocese to give them a special and exciting singing experience, within the majestic surroundings of Exeter Cathedral. It certainly was a beautiful and memorable experience for all of the children.
